Spending My Time at IBOToolBox These Days

I haven’t done much at Don’s Marketing Blog for some time now. The majority of my blogging is being done at IBOToolBox.com.

In order to keep this blog alive I will be posting the link to my latest article at IBOToolBox. I will start by going back to the beginning and move forward.

Here is one posted in December of 2011: Christmas Blog

IBOToolBox.com Mini Review

IboToolBox.com is the greatest thing to hit the social networking scene since Facebook, and if you are a network marketing professional, amateur, or especially if you are a wannabe, you want to sign up for this free platform.

Developer Paul Williams has given a godsend to the online marketing community with this relatively new platform. I will do a better review later on, but right now you need to get over there and sign up, because to be quite honest, if you don’t you are an idiot and deserve to be among the 96% of online failures!

Is Online Marketing For Me?

With all the election year hype about how the economy is recovering, I’m sure you know by now that it is all hype. The employment numbers going down is just a reflection of the fact that people are falling off the role, their benefits have run out.

If you are one of the unfortunate ones to have fallen off the role, no job prospect in site, and completely out of options, then maybe you should consider turning your life’s experience into a new career as an online marketer. Yes, it has value and is marketable.

You may be asking yourself, is online marketing for me?  I ask you, why not? What do you really have to loose, it is one of the last opportunities available with a very low barrier to entry. If you’re reading this you already have access to the internet, which is one of the biggest cost’s you will have.

I’m not going to fill your head with promises of easy riches, although it has happened, but if you’re willing to learn a few things and make some changes in your thinking, it is possible to make a living with online marketing.

Although not necessary, a mentor can save you a lot of time and confusion, but if you have the time and desire you can find everything you need to know at the Google machine. If you go that route be prepared to be confused, and sort out all of the information you will find on starting in the online marketing business.

One of the first things you can do is subscribe to Don’s Marketing Blog rss feeds or the newsletter so you can be notified on new posts that you will find useful in your search for information on the online marketing business. You can also go through the articles here on the site.

Where is Online Marketing Headed?

If you have been in the business of online marketing for even a short time, you have obviously noticed that it is ever-changing. Along with its ever-changing nature, it’s becoming more crowded by the day. You must be asking yourself, where is it headed, what is the future of online marketing?

According to marketing master and longtime guru Dan Kennedy, content is no longer king, the future will belong to those who have a close personal relationship with their followers. After all, you can find the answer to practically any question or problem just by going to the Google machine and type in your question.

So how do you differentiate yourself from everyone else who is hawking the same product?  This is where Dan’s thinking comes into play; you must have a personal relationship with your prospect. They must want to follow you because they feel they know you, just like a personal friend.

You must be yourself, and you will not be yourself if you are trying to duplicate someone else. You must share yourself and bits and pieces of your life, just as you would with a friend.

In closing, it is my humble opinion, that Dan sees the future as it is unfolding.

Where is Your Inner Child Hiding?

I read a great blog post from friend, associate, and fellow IBOToolBox member Michelle Hoffmann recently and it made me think, how most of us are pushed and pulled towards mediocrity.

The purpose of life is not for all of us to be the same, and least of all, mediocre. Most of us came into the world much the same, naked and no experience. We all have developmental milestones; periods in our lives where we learn the things we carry with us all our lives.

Since there are percentages of the whole, such as 97% of online businesses are mediocre, and 3% are mega-successful, there must be a commonality in play.

“The number of self-employed, “free agents” in the U.S. has risen to 25 percent of the total working population, according to a new survey released by Troy-based Kelly Services Inc. (Nasdaq: KELYA). And 90 percent of those people said they voluntarily sought to become self-employed.”

Statisticians have a hard time with the number of entrepreneurs, self-employed, business owners, marketers, etc.; as the definitions of each term can vary wildly. Suffice it to say that marketers are a small percentage of the worlds working age population.

If assuming that statement is true, why is the percentage of truly successful online-marketers so small? My belief is that we have been taught to fail, taught by our educational system, our early childhood rearing, our life’s experiences,  our political system, the daily input of garbage from television, radio, and other forms of entertainment, etc.

The dreams we had as children, the risk taking attitude, the enthusiasm, curiosity, creativity, and eagerness to learn has been put to sleep as we grow older and weary of life. Our general health and wellness play a big part in keeping that inner child hidden and unwilling to show him/herself.

If you want to end the mediocrity in your life, you must let your inner child out, allow him or her to once again enjoy life, explore the possibilities and chase the dreams. You start by examining your past and writing on paper the dreams you had as a child, try to remember what it was that made you give up on that dream.

A Great Place For entrepreneurs to Gather

I recently became involve with a relatively new social site for entrepreneurs. It is absolutely free of charge, but gives so much to the user, it is totally amazing.

Like Facebook it has a wall, the ability to advertise, a message system, and a profile page. But the similarities end there. The first thing to remember is that most users are entrepreneurs, like you, there for business. You won’t find any games to steal your time or distract you from the task at hand.

An amazing thing about the advertising side of the site is that you can earn points for writing a blog that they provide, to apply towards your advertising. It is well liked by Google too; blog articles show up in the searches almost instantly, they are also pushed to other well liked blog sites.

No matter what you’re online, or offline for that matter, business is, it is absolutely a site to check out. You must be invited to join, click the banner below and you can join by my invitation.
