If you want to have a great new year, you will have to make some changes. First of all, if you were happy with your current situation you would not be reading this, you wouldn’t have followed the link that led you here. Something inside yourself is looking for more.
That something is who you really are. You need to discover who you really are, what it is that you truly want. Once you discover that, then you must make the changes necessary to achieve what you really want.
Sounds simple right? It is, the solution is simple, the implementation is the hardest thing you’ll ever attempt. Have you ever tried to quit a bad habit, loose weight, etc., this is the arena in which making changes in yourself takes place.
Following are some steps to help you achieve change in your life.
- Take control of the input into your mind, the old adage garbage in, garbage out, stands true. If you have a steady input of negative influences, you guessed it, you’ll have a negative attitude. Controlling influences includes media, i.e., news, movies, music, etc., it also includes people in your life, family, friends, acquaintances. Eliminate the negative or at the least, limit your exposure to it.
- Get out of your comfort zone, this is just another word for rut. Do something every day that you dislike or don’t want to do. Creating good habits is just as easy as creating bad ones. Change your diet, instead of drinking six cups of coffee or soda every day, drink clean, pure water instead. Instead of eating unhealthy foods, eat something that’s good for you. Good health has a snowball affect to it, the better you feel, the more of it you’ll want.
- Surround yourself with positive influences. Did you know that you will become the average of the five people you spend the most time with, think about that. There are positive influences all around, in abundance, you just have to let them into your life.
Either you really want to change, or you just want to dream about it. The first step towards achieving any goal is the first one.
