If you have looked into internet marketing at all, you will have come across the industries latest jargon in their lexicon, the webinar. This acronym is used for web-based seminar, basically it is a seminar or lecture on the web that is interactive as opposed to a webcast which is not interactive.
This is another tool that can be outsourced, GoToMeeting.com is one such business. I’ve seen many of these over the past few months and have received a lot of good content. However, one thing I particularly find irritating is the length of some of the webinars. I have seen some that ran 2 – 3 hours, this is really stretching it in my book.
I’m also starting to see all day events, they run 8 hours or better, a bit much. Usually they will bring on clients or other experts in the industry and they basically pat each other on the back and tell of their successes. I don’t know if these all-day-athons are industry tests, or if they are really working, time will tell.
I’ve seen all levels of experts using this tool, and it’s not hard to tell the real experts from the BSers. But that is the beauty of this industry, at this point in time. The barrier to entry is so low, any one can become an expert. But as it goes in all industries, the time will come when it will take large sums of cash to get into the business and will be out of reach for most of us and a few big boys will pull all of the strings.
To your success…
